G.A.S.P.

Hello People,

So... been a while since I last blogged. Aww... I want to go back to then, so many yucky things have happened since then, most notebly, me losing my C drive... =(. Yeah, so it was my fault, I somehow surged the computer or something or another, which then corrupted the C drive, which then had to be reformatted, which then resulted in losing everything on there. I've tried all these recovery demos and I know there is some stuff left on the drive that is possibly recoverable. Of course, just my luck, my brother, the resident computer whiz in my house left the day after the reformat happened to live in Redmond for the summer to work for Microsoft. So... I've been trying to figure it all out, I got some advice from some people, which is great. I have some software left to try (thanks to some very nice people), but I'm too chicken to try them out though, at the moment, because the sooner I do it, the sooner I may find out that it is impossible to recover my data, and then all my hope will be gone. If I wait (like I am now) for a while, I can still hold onto all this hope that everything will be recovered... So, I haven't turned on that computer for several days now.

I know this shouldn't be such a big deal, but I'm sentimental... Two years worth of schoolwork (well, except for a few things saved on the D drive, like my Sci One research project thank goodness!) including a lot of personal essays written for scholarships and my admission to Sci One are gone which is pretty sad considering how much of myself are in those essays. I might have hardcopies laying around, but again, I am too chicken to check because this way I have hope that they exist on paper somewhere. Also, all of this years email is gone including my address book. That's pretty horrible too because I had lots of great emails I wanted to keep as well as all those important ones with dates and documents that would be useful to have now and for next year.

Oh well, at least this all didn't happen during the school year when I actually needed a lot of those files that I lost. Unfortunately, the inside UBC writeup for SUS was saved on the C drive and I sort of need that back just in case there is a problem with the submission. So, that is a small problem...

Ok, enough sad dwelling, it's not the worse thing that can happen... Something happy, I spent a big part of Wednesday with my dad running errands and such. While we were talking about the formatted computer, my dad said that maybe we'll get another computer in September. Ahh, perfect chance to tell him that I thought that getting a laptop would be cool. =) Maybe we'll get one, that would be awesome. Then we did some more errands and went grocery shopping at Superstore. What fun, hehe, we bought candy in bulk there, now you all know that I'm a candy fan. Haha, I'm so mature.

Anyway, I agree with Gina, we should all get together and have dinner! Talk to you all later.
